Talladega County Alabama

The area branches and benches along Talladega Creek contain placer gold.

Riddles Mill district, located in the southeast part of the county, was the most important area where gold mining was carried on in Talladega County.

The Riddle's Mine consisted of a 100-foot deep quartz vein that contained lode gold, with silver and pyrite in depth.

The Woodward Tract had gold and silver in the lead extending from Riddle's Mine.

7.5 miles south of Talladega on the east side of Talladega Creek, the Story Mine contained gold in quartz veins in decomposed slates.
