Sunrise Beach Village is a retirement and recreational residential community. The land has extensive property fronting the Lake LBJ. The city had 826 residences with 704 residents according to the 2000 Census report. The local government has one Mayor who also serves as the City Administrator and five Council Members with two year terms.
Sunrise Beach Village is in the Llano County and is located in the picturesque area of Highland Lakes. The State capital, Austin is located 60 miles to the southeast.
The city has excellent access to highways with low traffic. The community can be accessed by only one road which provides the isolation that is lacking in most other similar retirement communities.
Visitors and Locals both can enjoy the beauty of the Texas Hill Country in part due to the weather in the area. The city has many outdoor activities like boating, fishing, hunting and much more.
Sunrise Beach Village Police Department
The police department has 4 officers who provide round the clock coverage to the residents. The police department has water patrol capability also.
Sunrise Beach Village Fire Department
The Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department has more than 40 volunteers and 8 fire trucks and a fireboat. There are 16 dry hydrants placed throughout the community which pump water from the nearby lake.
Sunrise Beach Village Emergency Medical Services
Llano County EMS provides Ambulance services. Patients are taken to the Llano Memorial Hospital. The Volunteer Fire Department provides the first responders. The Fire and City Department have four automatic defibrillators between them. Two of the defibrillators are carried in police cars and the other two are carried by trained volunteers.
Location of Sunrise Beach Village
The city is located at coordinates 30°35′46″N 98°24′59″W. It is located on the south shore of the Lake LBJ; Austin is located 43 miles to the east of the city.
The city spans an area of 2.3 sq. miles of which 0.6 sq. miles (27.95%) is covered with water and the rest is land.
